The General Counsel will play a critical role in protecting the company’s interests while generally supporting all business objectives in a critical capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted leader and advisor for the Company and executive team.
  • On occasion, act as a spokesperson for the Company or portfolio businesses when necessary to interact with local municipalities, governments, or media.
  • Assist with hiring and background checks.
  • Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of issues including environmental law, patent law, business law, employment law, cannabis laws, real estate laws, and securities law.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to safeguard all company interests.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support decision-making processes.
  • Draft and review legal documents, ensuring clarity and compliance with relevant laws.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in Colorado and ability to obtain admission in other jurisdictions if required.
  • Proven experience in multiple areas of law including environmental law, patent law, securities law, workers’ compensation law, and business law.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
  • Excellent legal drafting skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Cultivation Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cultivation Manager to oversee various agricultural operations owned by FlowerFieldz portfolio businesses, in a range of environments, including greenhouses, outdoors, and inside vertical farming operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cultivation of high-value agriculture crops and livestock, farm management, environmental management, team leadership, diagnoses and curing of problems, harvesting, post-harvest processing, heavy equipment handling, and greenhouse operations, among other essential skills.

This role requires daily hands-on leadership and occasional travel across various farm facilities in Colorado and other areas. Also necessary is the ability to work collaboratively while leading a robust team to achieve high standards of quality, high yields, organic farming practices, and the utmost efficiency. The ideal candidate must consent to background checks in order to qualify for work in regulated industries which the company’s portfolio businesses may operate in.

Duties

  • Supervise daily operations of several farm and cultivation areas, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
  • Manage staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations to foster a productive work environment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and ordering of equipment, materials, and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition and replenished when necessary.
  • Coordinate planting, growing, feeding, and harvesting activities while monitoring crop and/or livestock health and yield.
  • Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with machinery or tools as they arise, and recommend new machinery needs when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the greenhouse, indoor vertical farms, and outdoor areas to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Assist with heavy lifting tasks as needed, promoting teamwork among staff members.
  • Implement best practices for plant identification and care to enhance growth and sustainability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in large-scale farm management, greenhouse operations, professional agriculture, legal cannabis cultivation, or related fields is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Must be a team-player who can set a great example for colleagues and act as a professional representative of the Company.
  • The ability to complete indoor work, greenhouse work, and outdoor work in various unpredictable weather conditions is essential.
  • Exposure to high temperatures, low temperatures, wind, light, dirt, and other elements must be acceptable for the ideal candidates.
  • Must act as an expert resource for leadership, staff, and clients alike.
  • Knowledge of plant genetics, propagation, species or strain identification, water management and recycling, and greenhouse operations is beneficial.
